I have a Herring Problem meets Sapphire Sparkle

Ahh Friday. So glad it's Friday.

I spent most of the afternoon playing around with my new polishes and attempting a half-moon mani. Even with a guide I can't paint evenly. But I did manage to rock a good-looking gap. Yay!

I really like OPI's I have a Herring Problem from their Holland Collection. It has a very nice shimmer to it.

It took 3 coats to get the opacity I wanted.

I'd also gotten a few CND's from bloom, and I wanted more sparkle for the mani I was going to do. So I added a coat of CND Sapphire Sparkle from their Effects collection. It's really REALLY sparkly, but I apparently fail at capturing the beauty of it on film. Sigh!

Luscious OPI nail mail from bloom.com

I love waking up, opening the front door and seeing nail mail waiting for me. I think I scared the cats cause I was bouncing up-and-down.

Last week the wonderful The Do it Yourself Lady posted a deal via GiltCity and Bloom.com. It was outrageous, so I snapped it up. I was one of the ones that were able to get the voucher for $5. So I went wild. I feel like I raided the store, and that feeling was only compounded when I opened the boxes.

I picked up a number of the OPI Holland collection and finished out my Touring America collection.

I feel so special!

I love pink tissue paper. *happy sigh*

Norah deciding the box looked tasty!

All wrapped safe & snug in bubble wrap.

Review: Julep Pomegranate Scrub

I recived the Julep Pomegrantte Scrub in my Valentine's Day Julep box. I wanted to test it out cause it looked interesting. It has the quality of a sugar scrub. Grainy without being abrasive. It smelled wonderful and I am always on the lookout for new products that can help me beat the winter dry-skin blues.

This scrub retails on the Julep website for $18.00. I decided to test this on my hands first.

From the site:

Exfoliate and moisturize in one simple step. Anti-oxidant pomegranate extract and hydrating Shea butter salt scrub will refine, brighten, tone and heal. Your skin will be soft and radiant from head to toe.

The Verdict:

I really wanted to like this product.

I don't. It leaves behind this waxy build-up/feeling. Even after washing my hands the feeling persisted, and I went insane trying to get it off my hands.

This is after using hand-soap. Can you see the water beading on my skin? I could not imagine using this on any other part of my body.

This is a dud. I can find much better/cleaner feeling products for much cheaper.
